Rhizome 50K page

Artwork, Publications — April 21, 2009 @ 10:36 am

I bought pixels on The Rhizome 50,000 Dollar Webpage

It reads “esto no es media art” (this is not media art) and it links to my blog entry about starting to create a community around spanish-speaking media artists.

(Don’t you love that image? I hear that animated gifs are the new black)

Blogging about Design & Development

Publications — April 16, 2009 @ 8:19 pm

My work with CARE and Ajkem’a Loy’a in Guatemala has gotten me interested in how design can be used as a vehicle to promote social and economic development.  Several months ago I started a blog, “Designing Development” to write about these interests, and document projects that are doing similar work.  Please send me a comment if you know of exciting similar ventures that I should be aware of!

My account on Daytum

Uncategorized — April 10, 2009 @ 9:15 am

In a recent conversation with an art critic who has looked through my work, she pointed out that I seem to be very interested in visualizing data (rss feeds into a flag, multiple photographs into one image, video tracking information into animated text), so it is not surprising that as soon as I heard about Daytum, I had to participate!

I started when it was in beta phase, and continue now that it has officially launched.  I find the charts and interface beautiful, and have been experimenting with everyday information, which may become meaningful after a certain accumulation.  Let me know what you think!
